Critic Choice Award

Suprise Wins

Midnight in Paris Orignal Screenplay-With the The Artist dominationing the night and The Artist the favourite best oringnal screenplay this comes as a bit of a shock but however Midnight in Paris is defintely with in strking distance.

Moneyball Adapted Screenplay-The Descendants is definitely in the lead for this category and to see Moneyball take it was a shock but again Moneyball is within striking distance

Tree of Life/War Horse-Best Cinematography- This isn't a shock but ties just piss me off your job is decide who wins.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Best Editing-The Artist or Hugo seem to be the only favorites in this category so The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo taking this is a bit of shock and it's nice to The Girl with the Dragon Rising.

What it Means
The Critics Choice awards are generally on pace with the Oscars but really do little to confirm if a film is peaking early or really the favorite. But at this point The Artist seems unstoppable and this really confirming it. Best Director is a bit less confirmed because Micheal Hazanavicius but it seems more and more every day that it will sweep the Oscars. Best Actor this really doesn't mean much because it so close between George Clooney and Brad Pitt it will really take the golden Globes and SAG's to really confirm a favorite. Best Actress Really confirms Viola Davis being the favorite. Most of the smaller categories won't matter in the big scheme of things.
